The Spartan Sluggers are a youth travel baseball organization based in Spartanburg South Carolina. We will be playing in the highly competitive USSSA  travel baseball system of tournaments around the local area of Upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina. It is our desire to take young talent and teach them the game of baseball through skills development and competitive play in a tournament atmosphere.

As we begin the 2010 USSSA travel baseball season the Spartan Sluggers will field a 9U team in the USSSA baseball system. We  expect to build on a successfull 2009 and be even better for 2010..

 

The Sluggers will have a roster with only 10 - 11 members, a number we feel is the most manageable in regards to playing time and functionality. We are currently seeking serious and committed players (7, 8 or 9 yrs old - cant turn 10 by May 1st, 2010) and parents for ALLpositions.

The Sluggers Organization stresses three very important areas, grades in school, sportsmanship and fundamentals. We feel if these areas are covered properly then the winning will take care of itself.

The world of tournament baseball is not for everyone and it is true that there are teams who train year round and stress only winning. The Sluggers however, is not a team whose only mission is winning the game. We encourage our kids to have fun while doing their best. We do believe that winning is important and we will always take the field with a winning attitude and make every effort to be successful at the conclusion of the game. The final score of a ball game; is not what makes a winner, but a small reward for the hard work it takes to become a winner.
